The Rules of New Phoenix Legion

This is the Codis Operendi for the New Phoenix Legion.

These are Rules we live and are bounded by, for they give us Purpose.

Below, you find the rules and regulations of the New Phoenix Legion. Please note, we refer to the Rules as Codis Operendi, which means
"Code of Operations."

There are several sections of the Codis Operendi, which detail different parts of the Legion.

Italicized text exists to provide explanation, or provide further details.

Bold Text indicates keywords of that section upon first contact.

Codis Operendi Unitas:

(A.K.A.: Code of Operations for All)

All Legionaries will not Cheat, Hack or Modify any game they play that will give them an advantage over other players.

All Legionaries will behave in a manner that Promotes the Legion, and will always be good sports, even in defeat.

All Legionaries will have their respective Comapany's Centurion & Squadron's Legate added to the Appropriate Friend's List for that Chapter, and all Centurions, Legates, will have each other and the Chapter Master(s) added to their Appropriate Friend's Lists.

All Legionaries must have an active account both on their Platform of choice and the Legion's Site and comment regularly on the Legion's site, as it is our Primary method of delivering information to the Legion.

If any member breaks this Covenant, they will be tried in an Inquisitional Hearing for Heresy, and if found Guilty, will be Excommunicated from the Legion.

Codis Operendi Formitus:

(A.K.A.: Code of Operations for Formation)

The New Phoenix Legion is organized as described below:

Legionaries:

A Legionarie is anyone who is a member of New Phoenix Legion. All Legionaries are considered equal in rank and rights. It is this fact that the command structure is based upon, and validates the command of all those who hold it.

All members start as Legionaries upon acceptance into New Phoenix Legion. Some Legionaries will be elected into positions of Command, and those Ranks and the Responsibilities of those ranks are listed below.

Legionaries are allowed and encouraged to voice their opinions, concerns, and they may also recommend potential recruits.

Companies:

The Company is the smallest division within the Legion. Companies are organized by their specialization. There should be as many Companies as needed within the Squadron.

The Three Basic Companies are listed below:

Fire Company - General Infantry

Onyx Company* - Special Forces/Elite Personnel

Sabre Company* - Pilots/Air Force

*These Companies will require Training for those who request entry into them. Required training and standards will be established by that Company's Centurion.

Companies will be led by Centurions, who will either be elected by the Legionaries within that Company, or appointed by that Squadron's Legate upon a Squadron's creation. A Centurion can only be appointed by a Legate during that Company's inception; otherwise, the Company will elect one of its own to the rank in a General Election.

Centurions are Responsible for the following:

  1. To Recruit new Legionaries as necessary.
  2. Maintaining a standard training regiment for their Company.
  3. Maintaining that Legionaries are following the Codis Operendi.
  4. Represent their Company in Staff Meetings of their Squadrons.

Squadrons:

The Squadron is the group of Companies that play on a single game. Squadrons are led by a Single Legate, who is one of Centurions. A Legate can either be appointed by the Chapter Master upon opening the Squadron, or Elected by the Legionaries of that Squadron should the current Legate step down. A Legate can only be appointed by a Chapter Master during the Squadron's inception; otherwise, the Squadron will hold an election, using the current Centurions as Candidates.

Legates are Responsible for the following:

  1. To Recruit new Legionaries as necessary.
  2. Representing the Legion in the game that they represent. If a Legate secures an alliance, they must notify their Chapter Master and their Squadron.
  3. Act as a Judge in a Inquisitional Hearing. A Legate may only Judge in the game that they lead.
  4. Represent their Squadron in Summit Meetings.
  5. Maintaining that Legionaries are following the Codis Operendi.
  6. Maintain the organization of their Squadron (Uniforms, Companies, Standards, Rosters, etc.).

A Legate cannot lead more than one Squadron at a time. This is to relieve the Burden of Power, so that the Legate is not stung out over several games. This does not mean that he cannot play other games, and he is allowed to offer advice to other Legates.

A Legate may temporarily lead a Second Company if, and only if, there is no Centurion to lead it, but that Legate must ensure that a Centurion is promoted for that Company. If no Candidates step forward, the Legate is allowed to Apoint a Centurion

Chapters:

A group of Squadrons that play on a single Platform is known as a Chapter. A Chapter Master will lead the Legion on whatever Platform the Legion operates on for that Chapter. There are up to three Chapter Masters in a Chapter, and those three will be the Legates from the three most popular Squadrons. Three Chapter Masters maintain an odd number, so that Summit votes do not end in a tie.

A Chapter Master's responsibilities are as Follows:

  1. To Recruit new Legionaries as necessary.
  2. To Represent the Legion on the Platform they play on. In such events that arise, the Chapter Master will be called upon to settle disputes among their Chapter's Legionaries, and handle negotiations with other Clans/Crews. This also includes maintaining/updating Diplomacy Pages.
  3. To set standards for the Squadrons and call Summit Meetings as needed.
  4. To Commission the formation of a new Squadron, provided there are enough Legionaries to play that Game.
  5. In such cases that arise, the Chapter Master has the ability to have Legionaries removed from the Chapter if said member fails to follows the Codis Operendi of the Legion, has changed Chapters entirely, or via an Inquisitional Hearing, or by the Legionaire's Request.

In many ways, a Chapter Master has the same abilities as a Legate, however, a Chapter Master's decisions are Chapter-wide, and must inform the other Legates of the important changes, whether it be rule changes, diplomacy changes, or standard changes.

Codis Operendi Inquisitus:

(A.K.A.: Code of Operations for Inquisition)

In the event of an Inquisitional Hearing, the rules of English Law Procedings will be used.

A Chapter Master will serve as the Judge of the Hearing, and will maintain order during the Hearing.

The Legate accusing the Legionaire will serve as the Prosecuter, and the Legionaire in question will be the Defendant.

NOTE: If the accusing Legate is A Chapter Master, then a Different Chapter Master will be The Judge. If not alternate Chapter Master can be found, then a Centurion of the same Squadron will be a Judge.
